To work out the volume of a cuboid, simple multiply the length by the height by the width.

Volume\quad =\quad L\times w\times h

This container has a volume of 2\times 4\times 6={ 48cm }^{ 3 }

There are some other shapes which you need to know how to work out the volumes for:

  1. Volume of a cylinder = area of circle \times length
  2. Volume of triangular prism = area of triangle \times length
  3. Volume of L-shaped prism = area of L shape \times length

Radius is the distance from the centre to the edge.

Diameter is the distance from edge to edge (going through the centre).
